Who is this training for?

This training is suitable for individuals whose work brings them into contact with grieving families, for example: health and social care staff, faith leaders, emergency service personnel, and charities.

What will I learn?

During this training, you will:

  • Increase awareness of how families bereaved of a child respond to loss, death and bereavement. 

  • Gain awareness of additional challenges faced by those families bereaved by suicide.

  • Develop greater confidence in providing support to, and communicating with, people bereaved by suicide.

  • Explore ways of talking about death by suicide.

  • Develop awareness of the role of postvention in reducing suicide risk.

  • Develop an awareness of the challenges of the work and the importance of looking after yourself.

  • Receive information about Child Bereavement UK and other support organisations, and resources available.
